Alexey Nikushin, the author of the Telegram channel “Internet Analytics”, conducted a survey of users of the popular messenger and found out the socio-demographic characteristics and interests of the active Russian-speaking audience of Telegram.

On September 1, in my fairly large (>6,600 readers) telegram channel, I posted a simple questionnaire made using Google forms and containing questions about gender, age, education, income level, and others in order to understand who they are — users of Russian telegram. The questionnaire was shared by the owners of authorial, popular science, and general education channels.

The questionnaire was available for a week. During this time, it was viewed by more than 23 thousand people and more than 3,500 people answered the questions.

This survey may not illustrate the entire audience of the messenger in Russia, but it accurately illustrates active users who constantly use the messenger, communicate in it, read channels and use bots.
