Nebius (formerly Yandex) has announced the opening of a GPU (graphics processing unit) computing cluster for artificial intelligence (AI) in Paris, France. The cluster will run on Nvidia hardware.
The new cluster from Nebius will be one of the first in Europe to be equipped with Nvidia H200 Tensor Core GPU processors. And in 2025, Nebius will also be among the first to offer its customers access to the Nvidia Blackwell platform.

Historically, Yandex was the owner of the Russian Yandex. In 2011, the company held an IPO (initial public offering) on the American Nasdaq stock exchange, and later the company entered the Moscow Exchange.
In 2022, Nasdaq suspended trading in Yandex shares. At the same time, the European Union imposed sanctions on Yandex CEO and majority owner Arkady Volozh and Tigran Khudoverdyan, who was then the company's chief operating officer. Both subsequently resigned from their positions at the company. The family trust that manages Volozh's stake in Yandex decided not to accept his instructions on how to vote with the stake.
At the end of 2022, Yandex decided to leave Russia. In 2023, the Nasdaq administration approved a restructuring scheme for the company, according to which, after leaving Russia, the company will be able to return to listing on Nasdaq.
