The question of whether it is better to have many comments or many visits is not so easy to answer. It depends a lot on the strategy of each blogger.

It depends. Like many things in life. Those who read this blog frequently already know that I give a lot of importance to comments on a blog . They give soul and inspire life in each blog. Don't get depressed when you read these lines because you haven't reached this point yet. The loneliness of a blogger is something absolutely normal when you start.

Blog comments are essential to creating a community
I'm not telling you anything new. To create a community around a blog, it is essential to encourage exchanges between readers. It is a myth that bloggers have to be 100% involved. Obviously, their participation helps a lot, but it is not always necessary in all cases. In this blog, there are clearly ups and downs, with phases where I get very involved and others where I barely participate. On these occasions, there is less commentary, but there is always interaction.

In a post I wrote a while ago discussing the question “Wordpress japanese number phone or Blogger?” you can clearly see what it means to have an involved community (thanks a lot!). Many questions arose from this post. The answers were not only given by me. In fact, the best contributions have been made by readers (well, that's nothing new either). With everything I've experienced, I go a bit against what is usually said. Obviously, the participation of the blogger is a plus. Even so, you have to make it clear that you value the contributions of your readers, even if you don't always show it in the form of comments.

Depending on your goal, you may care more about visits than comments.
I want to make one thing clear. I've had a lot of posts in the past that are too much about taking a long-term approach. There's nothing wrong with being short-term oriented. Just like there's the serial entrepreneur who would present himself in the blogging world as a "serial blogger" launching one blog after another. The strategies are obviously different. In my case, I'm very careful about what I do (and don't do) with this blog. It doesn't mean I don't take risks, but I plan to continue writing on this blog for a long time to come. A serial blogger can push the limits of what Google allows and use aggressive link building techniques to go faster than normal.
