Indicates the average number of searches

Post by arafatenzo »

Search volume is the number of searches for a keyword in a search engine over a certain period of time . It shows the potential for a given keyword to drive traffic, how competitive it is, and how much search volume it has had over the course of a year. However, inexperienced SEO specialists are tempted to overestimate the importance of this metric, which ultimately leads to poor marketing decisions and wasted company resources.

Tim Soulo, Chief Marketing Officer at Ahrefs, points out 5 mistakes people make when dealing with this metric in his article " Keyword Search Volume: 5 Things You Need to Know to Avoid SEO Mistakes ."

SEO tools usually list the average number of searches for keywords. This is not a problem for search queries that do not change significantly throughout the year. You need to pay attention to sweden email list seasonal search queries or current trends. A striking example of a seasonal search query is the phrase “artificial Christmas trees”, where the highest number of searches occurs from October to early December.

2. It indicates the number of searches, not the number of people who entered a search query
Search volume does not indicate the number of people who entered a search query. In some cases, someone may enter a query multiple times in a month, such as "weather today in Prague." All of this is counted in the total search volume, even if the search was performed by the same person.

3. The search doesn't always have to end with clicking on the next link
