Readers don't have time to read long articles

Post by mstakh.i.mo.mi »

On the other hand, for a long article, readers will spend perhaps 3 – 5 minutes. This signals to the Google search engine that internet browsers are spending more time on a website because that website is more popular and more useful to internet users. The effect? The website will get a better ranking on the Google search engine. Who wants to read long articles? Nowadays, people will skip or skim through an article if it's too long.

Before I answer that question, can I know if that is a fact or just your opinion? People chinese overseas europe database say that if an article is too long, readers will skim through it. No problem. Please do that. I do that too, especially if the article I want to read, I already know most of the points presented . Why re-read things that we already know? Unless we really have a lot of free time.

But what if in a long article, the author discusses a lot of things that the reader has never heard of. Or at least there are some points or ideas that are still new. Will this same reader still skim through ? He might do that, but it's not impossible that he will also bookmark, or save the link for further reading purposes when he has time later. I don't deny that there will be readers who will be selective in what they read.
